Performance, i.e. Music/Drama/Dance
Traditional, i.e. Beading/Hide Tanning/Knowledge Keeper
This workshop can be done in person. I use puppets to facilitate the 7 Sacred Teachings through a story. I also tell the story of the circle of life through the hoop dance in the dark with light up hoops and I also have hoops for children to try the dance afterwards to complete the ceremony. The hoops are lighted so that the experience really shows how children are the light and our future. I also tell the story of the 7 Sacred teachings using hoops.

Traditional Beading, Hide Tanning and Knowledge Keeper
I would love to teach beading, caribou and moose hair tufting, moccasin, mukluk, and mitt making. All of which could be taught virtually or in person. Equipment can range from materials to host each workshop, video camera, laptop, sewing supplies. Each would vary depending on where the class in taking place and what I am teaching also what age group it is that I’d be teaching at that time. I am willing to work with all age groups. I think it’s important to teach those who are older and want to reconnect with their culture and heritage as well as start teaching young children right off the bat their cultural artwork and basic sewing skills so they can make traditional footwear and mitts. I helped my Aunty teach her high school course which was called northern lifestyles at Churchill community high school, we sewed baby moss bags. I’ve been teaching friends and family how to perform traditional artwork since I was 14 years old. I have been a Storyboot artist with Manitoba Mukluks since I was 15. I have had my artwork sold worldwide, through the shopping channel and held in museums in Toronto Canada as well as the local tourism centre here in La Ronge. I have been practicing traditional artwork since I was 14 years old. I started my own business when I was 15 for my artwork where I create traditional woodland Cree footwear, mitts artwork and jewelry.

I live on Lac La Ronge in Northern Saskatchewan, where access to the boreal landscape is immediate and constant. My artwork arises always from the sensory pleasure I take from my environment, and my desire to re-immerse myself in things that have moved me.
I work primarily in watercolour, watercolour batik and fabric (for these pieces I dye and paint my own cottons). Recently I have authored and illustrated a children’s book, “Grandpa Has a Dragon”, the true story of my grandchildren and their crazy grandpa.
